Welcome to Making Physics Clear (MPC)! My name is J.P. Mizrahi. I am a physicist and mathematician living and working in Israel. My passion for a deep and real understanding of the world is one of the engines that has driven my life before and after I achieved my master’s degree in mathematics and physics and my Ph.D. in physics at the Israel Institute of Technology – Technion.
As a researcher, the topics I am focused on are classical and quantum gravitation theory, more specifically, string theory and Black Hole thermodynamics.
In more than 20 years of teaching mathematics and physics, I have acquired a vast experience in the complex process of explaining difficult concepts to students with different skills and backgrounds. As a student and now as a researcher, I have been tackling a common obstacle of the learning process: The lack of clarity of explanations in many lectures and textbooks.
All around the world, students at schools and universities learning new topics in physics get utterly lost amid prerequisites or hundreds of introductory pages of books and websites. This common scenario causes an inevitable effect: Frustration.
In an ocean of thousands of physics courses, textbooks, websites, and videos, the concepts and ideas are exposed in a roundabout way so that the students are most of the time drifting and getting away from the key ideas.
In an effort to expose the physical concepts in the clearest way possible based on my experience as a teacher and researcher, I created Making Physics Clear. I would not pretend to have the best explanations for everyone; what is understandable for some people could be unclear for others, which is why it is important for me to receive feedback and questions that you may have.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments and questions and for being part of this initiative.
